Where do seagulls go to sleep at night?

I once asked that question of Anne and our friend Janette when we were on holiday in Newquay, about 35 years ago. It caused much amusement at the time and we have laughed about it periodically ever since. It seems very silly, but in reflecting on my 40 year friendship with Anne, laughing at silly things has been such a feature. We have laughed many times about her difficulty saying words like 'brewery' and 'bureau', and about finding our dream dinner of chicken chasseur for her and steak with a fried egg for me (we found it in Torquay!). And what a wonderful laugh. I will miss that but thankfully it runs in the family so it will not be forgotten. Along with the laughter I feel pride - at having been a friend for so long, a bridesmaid, a godmother, to have watched her beautiful daughters ('the girls') grow into the fantastic women they are today, surrounded by lovely family and friends. You did a good job Panny.
I dug out a crusty old photo of us at a works do, typically either side of a handsome man. Still smiling 30+ years later in the 2nd photo with the lovely Kevin taking the photo. I also like the family photo (also taken by Kevin!) at my local pub near Abbey Road Studios. It was a lovely day, one of many. Much love, Pally x
